Our Little Rancher • UPDATE

So here's the story. I have been sitting here at this stupid computer since like 8. It is now 10:20. For some reason my computer is going insanely slow and my eyelids have became ridiculously heavy these past couple of minutes.

I was going to put up about 15 pictures tonight, but since the computer is dumb I will try again in the morning. DO YOU HEAR ME COMPUTER!!! PUT THE PEDAL DOWN, YOU ARE WAY TOO SLOW!!

So now that I have that off my chest, I will give you an update on the current standings of the Our Little Rancher contest. Actually, I am just going to say who is in the top five and then you can try to figure out the rest. So the front runners are Crystal, Kimball, Shelia, Callie, and Ramona.

Thank you to all for your comments, they are our favorite part of the blog. Except, when you say things like "Catherine is right on this one Luke, keep the same logo." That was not at all how I thought that poll would turn out. Oh well, can't win 'em all I guess. But keep the comments coming, there is still 10 days left to get those comments in.

So I am off to hit the hay. Hopefully this pathetic machine will have its act together in the morning.

Over and out!

**For some reason, the text size is all messed up. Again my computer must be on its last leg. Hopefully, I can get it all resolved in the morning.

Our Little Rancher - UPDATE

Today I was taking pictures of sale heifers we have at the ranch for some customers that wanted to see what we have available. Normally I enjoy going out and taking photos. I mean that is the reason we started a blog, to share our photos with the world. I was out in the sale heifer pen with about 25 head of heifers. The weather was perfect for taking pictures, the sun was out, it was not too hot and not too cold, I mean just right. So I go about trying to take some pictures. Here is what a good quality picture of an bovine animal should look like.

When I took this picture all the cattle in the bull pen were cooperating with me. Today, however, the heifers were not wanting to pose like they should. I would try to get their ears up and they would put their head down and eat grass. I would try to get them to take a step up so their feet were positioned properly and they would run to the other corner of the pasture. It was like pulling teeth out there today. Normally I am a pretty patient person, but today the planets must be outta whack, because I had a very short fuse. In order not to drive my car off a cliff, I decided to take some pictures that required much less patience.

As you can see the heifers were right next to the car, not out in the open by themselves waiting to have their picture taken. Out of the group I got about 10 good pictures. That means I have to go back out tomorrow for Round 2. Lucky me.

On another note, and a little more important, the moment that you all have been waiting for has come about. Are you ready to hear what it is that Catherine and I will be giving to the winner of the Our Little Rancher contest for the month of April. We will be giving an 8x10 canvas wrapped print of your favorite picture. That's right, we take the picture, have it wrapped and sent to you, and all you have to do it hang it. Oh yeah. You get to pick the picture! It may be a little weird to pick the one of me leaning on the fence, but whatever blows your skirt up. You pick it and we do the rest.

The following list is the Top 5 Ranchers in the contest so far.

5th place: Crystal Young
Tied for 3rd: Kimball and Shelia Stannard
2nd: Laura Teague
Numero Uno: RAMONA PETROSKY!!!!

Ramona's status mention on Facebook with the link to our names pushed her right to the top.

So keep those comments comin'! And Ramona, you better start looking for your favorite shot. But don't get too ahead of yourself, the race is close!

Our Little Rancher

So here is our big news. We would like to get everyone involved in our blog and as a reward for doing so we will be giving out stuff. Free. All you have to do it comment or participate in the contests we have.

So for our first Our Little Rancher give-a-way, starting in April I will be keeping track of who makes the most comments on our blog. And the winner will get a prize. But the problem is, is that Catherine and I do not know what y'all would like for a prize. So leave us a comment and let us know what you want and in doing so you will be entering yourself in the comment contest.

Also, if you want bonus points, you can get real involved and post a link to our blog in your facebook or twitter status. All you have to do is to make sure that you put @Luke Neumayr or @Catherine Williams Neumayr on facebook or @v8catherine on twitter (I don't have twitter). However, this only works if you are our friends on facebook so if you are not, please friend us.

Alright that is our big announcement. Since April is almost here I will go ahead and count all the comments from here until the end of April. So start leaving those comments!

We are at a stand off!

That's right. You and me. Mono e mono (or whatever).

Why are we at odds you may ask? It is because the wife formally known as Widget (she has requested that I not call her that again, loser) and I have some very big news to announce, but we are not going to say anything, nothing, zilch, nada, until we get one more follower. Once we get to half a hundred follows (read: 50) we will make our announcement. I know that there are people out there who have not become followers. I will not name names but there is a certain Charolais/Shorthorn breeder who had a garage sale this past weekend that has not become a follower. If she would we could all move on.

And before anyone thinks that there is a little one on the way, that is not it. At least I don't think there is. Widget? Is there something that you should tell me? In all your frustration over the whole Widget thing did you jump the fence?

In other news...

Did you forget the whole stand off thing? Did you really think that I would be sharing something else with you? Silly person.

So I guess this will be the last post until we get one more follower. Someone just do it! Like right now. I really want to tell you about the coolest thing ever. Ok I will check back this evening and hopefully someone gave into the pressure and we have 50 followers!

Over and out.
